It’s that time again, where Sony announces the free stuff they are going to give to the PlayStation Plus subscribers. Remember that you only have access to the games as long as you stay a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
If you are a PS4 owner, you get the great open world game Just Cause 3, the DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag called Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry and a free DLC pack for the free to play game that goes into open beta on August 1st called Dreadnought.
There are some really good things included here. The DLC for Assassin’s Creed is nothing to scoff at. It may not be a whole game, but the story is good, and there is enough content that it is well worth your time. Plus, if you need something that’s huge they still have you covered with Just Cause 3.
The PS3 games don’t look quite as good in comparison, however. This month, PS3 owners receive Super Motherload and Snakeball. Super Motherload is a one to four player couch co-op game, so at least it should give you a diversion when you are hanging out with your friends.
Snakeball seems like the more interesting of the two. It is sort of a 3D remake of the old game Snake. (Yes like that old game us old people used to play on our phones before phones had the internet.) I can perceive myself wasting a lot of time on this if it is done well.
Vita owners will be getting Level 22, which is a unique stealth game where the player takes the role of someone who has overslept for work. The other game they will get is Downwell, which is also available on the PS4. Downwell is kind of mashup of a bunch of different genres. It is a rogue like shooter where the player is just constantly heading down.
Not the strongest line up they have ever had, but in my opinion there is still a lot of fun to be had with this set of games. Besides, can you really complain about free games?
